If you are looking for an experienced alloy steel manufacturer in India, we can work with you around the grade, chemistry, section, size, supply condition and application you require.

Our integrated manufacturing facilities cover steel melting, ladle refining, vacuum degassing, continuous casting, rolling, heat treatment, finishing and metallurgical testing. This gives us greater control over the production route from molten steel to finished bar.

What Makes Alloy Steel Different?

Alloy steels are steels in which elements such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, manganese or vanadium are used to achieve specific metallurgical properties.

Depending on the grade and alloying system, these additions can improve characteristics such as hardenability, toughness, fatigue resistance, wear resistance and response to heat treatment. Chromium, for example, contributes to hardenability and carbide formation; nickel can improve toughness; molybdenum can improve high-temperature strength and hardenability; and vanadium contributes to grain refinement and wear-resistant carbide formation.

That makes alloy steel particularly relevant where an ordinary carbon steel may not provide the combination of strength, hardness or toughness required by the final component.

Alloy Steel in the Product Form You Need

We manufacture engineering steels in different bar forms so that you can choose a starting material that suits your manufacturing process.

Alloy Steel Round Bars

Available size range: 16mm to 230mm.

Our alloy steel round bars are suited to forging, machining and critical component manufacturing. If you already know your grade and diameter, share them with us along with the required quantity, supply condition and end application.

Alloy Steel RCS Bars

Available size range: 28mm to 140mm.

RCS bars are an important option for customers involved in forging. Where your component or forging route requires a rolled corner square section, you can specify the grade and section size as part of your enquiry.

Alloy Steel Peeled Bars

Available size range: 18mm to 80mm.

Where your process requires peeled material, we can discuss your grade, finished size, application and subsequent machining requirements. Our finishing infrastructure includes peeling, reeling, straightening, cutting and magnetic particle inspection equipment.

Alloy Steel Grades in Our Manufacturing Range

Our engineering steel range includes a broad selection of grades such as:

  • EN18
  • SAE 4140
  • EN19
  • 42CrMo4
  • EN24
  • SAE 8620
  • SAE 4340
  • EN36
  • EN353
  • 17CrNiMo6
  • 34CrNiMo6
  • EN30B
  • EN16
  • EN31
  • H13

We also manufacture carbon and other special engineering steel grades, allowing you to approach us with either a specific designation or a component-based requirement.

Because several grades may appear under different national or international standards, the exact standard should always form part of your purchase requirement.

Different Alloy Systems for Different Jobs

Not every alloy steel is designed to do the same job.

Chromium and Chromium-Molybdenum Steels

Chromium and molybdenum are widely used where higher hardenability, strength and fatigue performance are required. Grades in the EN19 / 42CrMo4 / SAE 4140 family are typical examples of chromium-molybdenum engineering steels.

These steels are commonly selected for highly stressed engineering components such as shafts, axles, gears and forged parts where strength and toughness are important.

Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Steels

Nickel, chromium and molybdenum are combined in several higher-performance engineering steels to provide a balance of hardenability, strength and toughness.

Grades such as EN24, SAE 4340, 34CrNiMo6 and related families are associated with heavy-duty engineering applications where the component may experience high stresses or shock loading.

Case-Hardening Alloy Steels

Some alloy steels are specifically intended for carburising and case hardening.

Grades such as SAE 8620, EN353, EN36 and 17CrNiMo6 are commonly associated with components requiring a hard, wear-resistant surface combined with a tougher core.

Bearing and Tool Steels

Our wider engineering-steel range also includes EN31 and H13. EN31 belongs to the high-carbon chromium bearing-steel family, while H13 is a hot-work tool steel.

These grades serve very different applications, which is why the steel grade should always be selected around the actual component and service conditions rather than simply the generic term “alloy steel”.

Alloy Steel for Engineering and Manufacturing

We supply engineering steels across a broad industrial base including:

  • Automotive and auto components
  • Forging
  • Fasteners
  • Agriculture
  • Railways
  • Defence
  • Oil & gas
  • Earthmoving equipment
  • Electric motors
  • General engineering

Automotive & Transmission Components

Our engineering steels are used for applications including axles, shafts, gears, transmission parts and other forged or machined components.

Forging Industry

We supply forging-quality alloy steel bars and RCS sections for customers producing critical forged components.

Fasteners & General Engineering

Our carbon and alloy steel round bars are used for nuts, bolts and precision-engineered components.

Agriculture & Heavy Equipment

Our steel is also supplied for tractor components, agricultural implements and heavy-duty machinery parts.

Integrated Steelmaking from Melt to Finished Bar

Our production route begins in the melt shop rather than at the finished-bar stage. The process includes: Steel Melting → Ladle Refining → Vacuum Degassing → Billet Casting → Precision Rolling → Finishing / Heat Treatment → Inspection & Testing.

Steel Melting

We operate two electric induction furnaces with capacities of 15 tonnes and 7 tonnes, both featuring dual crucibles.

Ladle Refining

Our Ladle Refining Furnace is equipped with SCADA-based PLC control for electrode regulation and an argon purging system to minimise impurities and inclusions during steelmaking.

Vacuum Degassing

Our vacuum-degassing setup uses Edward UK vacuum pumps and is capable of operating below 1 millibar pressure to reduce gas content in the steel.

Continuous Casting

Our Continuous Casting Machine is equipped with electromagnetic stirring and produces billets from 130mm to 250mm.

Precision Rolling and Controlled Finishing

Our rolling facilities include an 18-inch / 14-inch mill, a 20-inch mill, two fully automatic reheating furnaces with 15 MT/hour capacity each (PLC-controlled), and CNC roll-making equipment.

The CNC roll-making system supports precision and minimal tolerance in the final rolled product.

After rolling, our finishing infrastructure includes peeling, reeling, bar straightening, hydraulic straightening, cutting and MPI facilities.

Heat Treatment to Support Different Metallurgical Requirements

We maintain dedicated heat-treatment facilities for annealing, normalising and spheroidising.

Our heat-treatment section includes oil-fired bell-type furnaces, electric furnaces and an LPG-fired furnace, all designed for controlled thermal processing.

The correct heat-treatment cycle depends on the actual alloy grade, section size, delivery condition and required final properties. Alloy steels can respond very differently to annealing, hardening and tempering, so your specification should define the required condition wherever applicable.

Testing Is Part of the Manufacturing Route

Material consistency is especially important when steel is going into forging, machining or heat treatment. Our inspection and testing infrastructure includes:

  • Spectrometer
  • Mobile Spectrometers
  • Impact Testing Machine
  • Ultrasonic Flaw Detector
  • Universal Testing Machine
  • Jominy Testing
  • Hardness Testing
  • Chemical Laboratory
  • Metallurgical Microscope
  • Gas Analyser (LECO)
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection equipment

Our integrated manufacturing process helps us maintain control over chemistry, steel cleanliness, internal quality, dimensional consistency, surface quality, mechanical properties and heat-treatment condition.
